I recently purchased a 1987 Hobie Holder 14, model H1-14, and found the center board pivot hole has cracks. Some of the cracks extend from the hole out to the edge. Can I just force epoxy into the cracks or do I need to cut the damage out and rebuild with fiberglass? Also, should there be a little slop in the pivot hole or should it be snug? I thought about reaming the hole a little and pressing a bronze bushing into place with some west systems epoxy, but that would mean a snugger fit for the pivot pin. Obviously, I'm anxious to get out on the water. Could I do a get-me-by repair that will hold me over until the fall, when a more permanent repair could be made?
I have a few good pictures, but haven't yet figured out how to show them.
