Hello, I finally took the plunge and started a small kayak outfitting/charter side-biz this season, thinking it would be the dream. But honestly, since I started focusing on the "pro" side, I’ve barely actually fished for myself. I expected more time on my PA14, but the reality is I’m spent fixing other people's broken rudders or chasing down local permits instead of being on the water. The overhead and the logistics are way heavier than I planned for, and I’m definitely realizing I’m a better fisherman than I am a business manager. I’ve tried to streamline the paperwork, but it’s still eating my weekends. Has anyone else here tried to go "pro" or start a small shop and found a way to keep the fun alive? I’d love some honest advice on how to handle the burnout before I end up hating the sport.
