Why use oil based products to clean up oil spills?

Why should millions of pounds of absorbant, natural, renewable fiber go to waste every day?

We all get it. We shampoo because hair collects oil.

And during WWII, the barber and beauty shops were required, by law to save hair to make the famous "coarse-hair-hair plane"! posting.php?mode=reply&f=11&t=24373#
