eVolve D.O.A.

Picked up evolve motor for my father's outback yesturday. We installed it.. no problem. Pluged the charger into the battery pack... green len turned on steady on charger 'brick'. Unplugged it about 12 hours later.

This morning we head out to try it out. Press power key on throttle, screen shows for split second... thats all.
Pack up and head back home. Plug charger in with throttle attached to check charging status.. Press power button and screen on just long enough to get a code 43... Battery empty!! Now screen will not come on at all.

Help Matt... do I have to uninstall everyting and return to dealer? Over an hour ride to them. Am I missing something?
Should charger led flash?... Instruction that came with motor leave alot to be desired.. such as 'the charging unit supplied is modified charges the eVolve battery pack in approx 8 hours...' typo, something lost in translation??
