I hope be travelling to the Naples, Florida area in the near future. I will be taking some tackle with me. Is there a list of where I might rent a Hobie product (preferably with a Mirage drive) for a few days?? For that matter, is there a list/directory of this type of business for either the US or North America?? Regards;-) Shimanoman

Dan; Thanks for your prompt reply!! I went to their website. You have supplied exactly what I am looking for!! I will be calling them direct when I know what my travel plans are. (I hope to meet one of my sons down there so we can hook up and do a little coastal fishing together) No doubt, as a Pro Angler owner, you might have some advice to share as to where and where not to wet a line. Again, thank you very much. Regards;-) Ian

If I can be of any assistance for your fishing trip just let me know. There are different locations that Saltwatersports rents from. I would consider renting from Goodland, Isle of Capri or Everglades city. Depending on when your going make sure you have bug spray.

Good luck
Dan

I am traveling to Port Charlotte, FL in early January, and would like rent a tandem Hobie Mirage kayak for a day, I have happily owned an i12S for two seasons. I searched the Hobie Kayak dealers nearby, this looks interesting:

http://www.captivakayaks.com/rentalinfo.html

Anyone have any comments on the vendor or location? Or any other suggestions?
Last winter I drove down, and took the i12S as well as a windsurfer along, had a blast on the Peace River, but flying commercial air reduces the options.

I've been in their parking lot but didn't realize they were a Hobie dealer. I saw a bunch of other kayaks there. We ate at the Bubble Room less than a block away. We have vacationed in Captiva each of the past three years. Awsome place. The fishing is good. I've never kayak fished it though but after seeing the link I may next year. They just reopened Blind Pass which was supposed to be awsome fishing in the past. It filled in with sand and closed the pass. They finished dredging it back out and it opened just after we were there last year. It is a neat area. The bay side has the Ding Darling Wildlife refuge and is teaming with all sorts of fish and birds. It looked like an awsome area to kayak. Let me know what you think of it if you go. I'm headed back down there next summer.

Hi. I know it's a year later, but it's finally going to happen. My 2 sons and I will fly in to Ft Myers where I will meet them for a "Guys Week". We will be staying at a residence in Naples.(25Aug-1SEP) I will be bringing some Med action freshwater spinning tackle. I am a Canadian resident as is one of my boys and the other is a resident of NYC. Do you know what the fees are for fishing in saltwater??(C&R only) Where are non resident licenses available ?? What would you recommend I bring for terminal tackle?? I have a lot of questions and could use your advice. If you send me your phone #, I would be happy to call you. I hope that we don't run into any major storms. Thanks, in advance.......Regards..:-) Ian
