Hi (Matt?),

I'm just wondering if it's possible to retro-fit the 2009-onward rudder up/down handles to a 2008 Revo - replacing the current handle mechanism?

Cheers,

Mike.

I know that you can retrofit the T handle style up down rudder system on the new Revo, but the question that you should be asking is can it be done for free. I'm pretty sure that Hobie allowed users of the older boats to upgrade at no cost. You might want to wait for someone smarter than me to answer, but I thought that I read that somewhere.

There was a free upgrade kit for Adventure Island owners because it was needed for the larger rudder. This kit also has a cam cleat rather than the jam cleat used on other models because of the higher speeds of sailing. This is not a free upgrade for other boats but the kit can be purchased through any of our dealers. The instructions are for Adventure Islands, but by either looking at a new boat or estimating hole locations, it can easily be put in any model. The part number for the kit is 81391002.

Wish there was a free upgrade for my 2008 Adventure. I would do that in a heartbeat
