Today I took delivery on my Mirage Sport Fish from Dana Point Jet Ski & Kayak. I want to tell everyone how incredible the people at Dana Point are, Tim Boyer and staff. They had my Kayak ready for me when I got there, as I came from Palm Desert, 120 miles away. They gave me all the instructions I needed and away I went. I had a problem with the Mirage Drive, but they immediately took care of the issue. They showed me how to mount the sail and step the mast and helped me load the yak on my car. As for the sail, it was wonderful. Dana Point is a great place to Kayak and the weather today was perfect, 75 degrees and sunny with glass calm water. I am excioted to be part of this sport and I want to again thank the staff at Dana Point Jet Ski & Kayak for making my maiden voyage a great one.

Hey Mark,
Congrats on the new boat and welcome to the Hobie Forum. Lots of great folks and info here. I have been using my (wife's) Sport almost exclusively as of late, and it has become my favorite boat for all-around use (except when she wants to use it, natch!).

Glad also that you hooked up with a good dealer--most Hobie dealers are excellent from what I can determine, but at 120 miles, it's no easy task to get help when you need it--except for this Forum! If and when you have any problem/question at all, first run it by this Forum, and the chances are that someone, somewhere will be able to help you without you leaving home.
Best of luck,
Dick

:D Hey Mark, welcome aboard!

Thanks for posting your experience with the Sport. I own a green Sport fishing model that I fish, pedal, and sail. While I dream of eventually owning a Adventure Island once all the bugs are worked out, my heart will always be with my Sport. The most fun per buck of any toy I have owned, and I've owned plenty over the years.

It's addictive :!:
