I've retrofitted threaded solid cranks to all my drives along with Knee Saver pedal extenders for the clip-less pedals.
I saw somewhere that these cranks, parts, 81105001 and 81100001 were discontinued. Is this true??

Thanks, Mack

Yes... many years ago, but now out of stock. We have 81105001 Right, but no lefts.

Current pedal cranks are thicker than they used to be and significantly stronger. We are not seeing any failures at all.

Thanks Matt. I never had a problem with the standard cranks.
I only bought the solid cranks so I could use clip-less pedals.
Shimano (and others) makes a comfortable SPD sandal that's ideal for boats.
I like the feeling of my feet hanging off the pedals.
I guess heel straps are the other option
