Went to lift my 2016 outback by the side handle to go fishing and it cracked/broke at the rear screw. Contacted the dealer and he advised me to bring it by and he would install a new one so no problems there. Was wondering if anyone else has had this happen? The way the handle cracked the only thing I could imagine causing the problem was an overtightend screw that caused it to crack when assembled at the factory. Dealer said he has never seen one crack before. Love my outback and great response from the dealer.

Thanks for sharing your positive dealer experience...This is something we see happen from time to time, but not too often. There's a variety of things that may have caused a weak point in the handle. Hard to say exactly what the mode of failure was.
