Crack in PA 12

Noticed a crack in my PA 12 I just picked up after first trip out. Hull had no water in it so I don’t believe it’s leaking. Is this something I should attempt to fix or should I not worry about it. I’ve read its very common in this area but usually it’s from the bottom of the hull or a part that will allow water in.

Looks thin there and maybe split rather than cracked. The strength required is above this on the shelf the drive rests on. I "don't think" it is a problem, but keep an eye on it / coat with sealant maybe.

Silicone? Or should I 3m adhesive a little piece of plastic on top of it ?

You just need a water barrier in case some finds it's way around the molded-in fitting (not likely). Rough up the plastic and use something like 3M 5200.

I already put some epoxy over it, it is possible some water got in it already after cleaning the kayak. Should I try to remove the epoxy and let it dry for a couple days if any did get in there ?

Or Just remove and silicone. Also do you guys sell color dye? Would like to make the patch the least noticeable as the rest of the kayak is mint.

GOOP. Best thing going for filling holes, cracks or splits on just about including kayak hulls.

Agree with the Goop. I use Amazing Marine Goop. It bonds to plastic well but does have a short shelf life once opened. Once it starts to "ball up" and turn white while applying it toss it.

I wouldn't use Goop over the epoxy though. If anything you could use s strip of Flex Seal tape over the epoxy to give you some piece of mind. I say strip because of the shape where the crack or split is located.
