Hobie's cart

The "tire" on the plastic wheel of my stock Adventure cart has seperated from the "rim" My first blow-out .

I put it back on but it keeps falling off. Has any one else had this problem What to do? The rim looks like poly, will epoxy hold? Any help/suggestions appreciated

We buy the light duty cart from a cart vendor, not our design. (As a side note, we will be changing to a much better [standard] cart in the near furtue...not sure exactly when.) These wheels are basically golf bag/cart type. Side loading or heavier loads seems to compress the thread and then force it to peal off the rim. If you have gear in the boat or travel distances, have rough grounds, uneven grounds...it is a problem. The cart has a load limit that is basically the weight of the boat alone. I think you could use sikaflex or 3M 5200 to bond the rubber on better.

We suggest the heavy duty upgrade wheels as one solution. We also have a great new all around cart... the HOBIE Trax.

Epoxy did not work for me.

But screws did. Put 4-6 spread evenly around the tire right through the center.

I think I forgot to say on KFS that I did a smaller predrilled hole for the screw size.

The points will stick ot put they are inside the hub . Shouldn't cause any problem.

I got the heavy duty upgrade wheels for the cart with the old golf cart type wheels but I can't figure out how to attach the new wheels to the cart axle. My axles are smooth at the tips with no groove and no hole. The old wheels had a screw on them which tightens them onto the axle but the sleeves of the new wheels have nothing to grab onto to kkep them from rolling right iff the ends of the axles. Am I missing a piece?

Heavy duty upgrade:



Requires a hole in the cart axel. Slide the sleeve over the axel (may require a mallet) then wheel... then pin in place.
