Kayak Towing

I have a little water scooter that can get me to the different flats that I want to fish on. But I was considering the ways that I could get my yak out there.
Some body told me that towing could be bad for the yak. So I did not consider it any more. Please tell me all the different pros and cons about towing a Hobie Outback. Thanks.

PS was considering putting in a new tow eye in the bow and putting a large back up plate behind it.

Someone may have better insight about towing.
I have towed both my Revo and Sport behind a pontoon boat. It was to get them across the lake to the river. There were people in them and they used the rudders. Very stable and I didn't see any problems doing it. Did about 10 MPH if I remember right.

I keep hearing pretty positive stuff about towing. One guy told me how he tows his Hobie up to 40 mph all the time and he has never had a problem. He was also telling me if I decide to tow to keep the yak close as possible to the mother ship so it doesn't take a nose dive underway. I don't plan on going much faster than 10 mph.

I think whoever told you they towed their yak at 40 mph was pulling your leg. I don't ski that fast.
