I am in the process of ordering an '09 Oasis and standard cart. At first I couldn't believe that Hobie had apparently nearly doubled the price of the cart. But then the dealer explained that this cart is improved, either the same or similar to that used for the Mirage inflatables. Has anyone heard of this? I have found no official publicity on a new cart design nor the supposedly redesigned hull for the '09 Oasis.

Thanks,

Will

I just bought a standard cart, for my '09 Oasis, and the dealer said it was wider with a locking pin to hold it in the scupper. Having never seen the original I'm not an expert. After looking at the cart for sand, the dealer had, there was a big difference in width. There is enough room on the axle (with removal of the welded washer) to fit any wheel you want. May need a bushing (axle diameter) for some wheels. I've add some foam balls to the cart since there is only a small contact area in the center of the hull. I'm looking at other ideas for increasing support area since the hull deforms easily.

Thanks for the input, Tandem.

I am really looking forward to receiving my '09 Oasis with all the recent improvements.

My dealer advises that here in the cool Northwest, normal use of the cart will not deform the hull. Still I will probably insert tennis balls or something if that type mod still applies to the new design.

Correction to my original post: Hobie has not increased the price on the new standard cart, which makes it look like a great deal. Check out Roadrunner's post at http://www.hobiecat.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=11952.
