No, the drive is an '08 on an '09 hull.................ck

That clarifies for me. I talk to a LOT of people. Sorry.

Yes, they were to choose one specifically for you off the production line. How that transpired and then was it the hull that was delivered? I don't know. Perhaps is related to a difference in drive fit. A new "tight" 2009 drive they may have tested it with? Hard to say at this point. roadrunner had eluded to differences in drives?

When I went to the dealer to exchange the hull for the "new" one, the dealer told me he wasn't so sure it was much different or better. I kept my '08 drive and equipment, just swapping the hull, as I was told that was the arrangement. However, if I put my wife's '09 drive in, I just checked, it does the same, in fact, perhaps even a little bit worse, if the truth be told. If I knew how to repair a large hole in the kayak, I would cut an opening and patch it with a wider area......................ck

Hummm. Makes me think the connection with a hull off the line... didn't happen as planned. I was simply the messenger in the arrangement. I will ask the factory manager. He was to make this happen.
