My Mirage drives paint is flaking and peeling is there anything I do different to stop it, I ALWAYS RINSE MY GEAR OFF GOOD due to Saltwater.......If it does flake off all the way is there some action to take.....I would hate to see my $500 investment looking shabby........Steve

The only "paint" is an e-coating on the pedal shafts. Is this what you are referring to? The parts should not flake... so, would be replaced under warranty. These are dipped in chemicals before passing into an electrically charged booth where the "paint" is attracted to the part. There could have been a problem in the process somewhere along the way.

Contact your dealer to place a claim.

Yes that is what I am referring to and also where you squeeze the handle to change the pedal position just where the pins keep the placement bar! Thank for the reply Matt!

I received the email yesterday and will pass over to the warranty manager on Monday. We will replace the pedal / pedal shafts.

Question for Matt,
I have the same peeling/cracking on my Mirage Drive. Is this only a cosmetic issue or should I worry about it? I know I can go thru the warranty/replacement process, but is it worth it? If it is only cosmetic, I can live with the appearance. I am exclusively in salt water.

This is mostly cosmetic. You will see some corrosion in the pedal adjuster pin location regardless of the quality of the paint... and they don't seem to fail there due to stress. That would be the place to watch.
