While on the lake today I decided to do a quick but hard paddle. This was done in deep water with no underwater obstructions. As I dug deep and hard into the water to gain speed, my standard Hobie 2-piece paddle snapped just above the blade! I almost never put stress on my paddle by using it wrong (ei: to push away from a dock or use as a self-rescue prop). But it is a 3 year old paddle. Anyone else break their Hobie paddle?

We can replace the blade for you. Contact your dealer to file a claim. Easily epoxied in place.

Wow, even with a 3+ year old paddle? I'll give my dealer a try and see what happens.
