The kits come with lots of cable so I imagine you can install each component wherever you like. To start out, I recommend you pick your preferred locations and run the cables above the deck (without drilling) to verify that everything goes where you want it. You should operate it on the water that way as well, trying each location with the motor. You may prefer the turn-on-a-dime rudder mount or the more hands-free rudder operation you get with the drivewell mount. Both have their advantages, depending on your use and operating environment.
Personally I prefer the drivewell mount because there is no torque steer, easier rudder operation with less drag (when not using the motor), better power-off (and sailing) rudder authority, and you still retain the excellent hybrid capability with the tandem. But I don't have to be concerned with shallow water operation (easy to step out of the boat and remove the system near shore).
Regarding weight distribution, the whole system weighs about 15 lb. The motor (about 7#) on the stern shouldn't be too bad, especially if you nave the newer more buoyant Oasis hull. You should still be able to put the battery (also about 7#) forward, although I haven't tried fitting it in a 8" hatch. In any event, a little ballast can easily correct any imbalance.
Let us know how it works out!
