V2 sprockets are indeed tough and I am a former die hard holdout of the Stainless Steel sprockets. My V2 sprockets have taken some punishment from turbo fins and done very well.
I did notice on one V2 sprocket after straightening a slightly bent mast that the brass insert had come loose from the plastic. To be clear if you wiggle the mast you can see the brass insert wiggle a tiny bit from the plastic surrounding it. I can't see any sprocket cracks and the brass insert seems to be still embedded enough to not be coming out.
This happened a month ago and I have used the drive over 10 times that way - no problem.
What is great is that the V2 sprockets are affordable when it comes time to replace.
