I have both Boonedox & AMAs fitted to my 2020 Revo 13 & they are both used independently of one-another, why in the hell would you bother trying to fit the AMAs inside your Boonedox. I have cut the AMAs mounting tube down and sleeved it with aluminum tube owing to the fact the tube is to long and hung out the mounting brackets to far on my Revo, so they now finish flush with the mounts. So why would you try & re-invent the wheel, the fitting of both is not rocket science and yes it is simple to install. Even if you have the new model mountings for your landing gear.
The AMAs were fitted after I installed the landing gear so I moved the landing gear back and the AMAs are now in front just behind the seat I can reach both of them from my seat. Photos available through my email address. I have already sent out some photos to other guys who have shown interest in my method.

Not sure if you're jealous of what this poster did (it was well thought out) but your attitude needs to go. I seriously doubt you would accept someone talking to you that way. No need for that.

Having a back ground in design for many years most certainly does not make me jealous of another persons achievements Swfinatic, Redheadedsinger has a well thought install but it still can be installed in a easier fashion as the manufacturer intended so if you are stepping up to defend Redheadedsinger my friend you are way off base with your comments, I have in no way intended to cast aspersions on the achievement of her installation method but just letting others know that there is another way without over engineering it. It is also worth noting my friend that the install was carried out on two different model Hobies (ie Sport & Revolution ) so if you are intent on being offended by my comments I apologise for my transgression.

Thanks basslogic. You're obviously a stand up guy. I apologize for the way I responded to your comments.

There was no other way to install both on my Sport. The Sport is less than 10 feet long, but yet wider than a Revo. There is only one place on the Sport that the Boonedox could be installed due to the mold of the kayak, and as they dont make a kit for the Sport, I had to use the Outback kit, and modify that. That is also the only place on the kayak that the Sidekicks could go, without interfering with the Boondox. There was simply no other option, and they could not be installed as the manufacturer intended. I hardly think its over engineered, but rather a brilliant and easy fix to a space problem on a little kayak. I would love to hear your method of installation on my Sport.

This wasn't directed at me, was it?

No, it is not directed at at you Redheadedsinger what you have accomplished is very well thought out and your right about the sport requiring a different application, you have done a great job.
The sport rear rod holders are closer to to the seat than the Revo 13 which means you have a lot less room for both so the way you have installed is a great idea, by attaching it to the Boonedox mounting brackets not in them as others have suggested (they were the reason for my comments). Now you can take both with you like I do.

Thankyou Redsinger. After watching your video, I now believe I can mount my sidekick mod to the Boonedox. https://www.hobie.com/forums/viewtopic. ... =Bike+rack p.s. can you tell me how tall the boonedox knuckles are on the kayak? I haul my kayak hull up and there is only 2.5" between the load bar and the top of the car. thankyou
