I have a 2007 Outback, been out with it about 4-5 times. I have a difficult time deploying the rudder. It is so hard to move to the down position with the control lever that I am afraid I will break either the lever or a cable. So I have to assist the rudder with the yak paddle.

Any suggestions?

Oh, the fishing has been terrific. today I caught a 24 in Pickerel that towed me around for a good few minutes. When I finally got it up to the Outback I didnt know what to do with it, so while was deciding it cut my line and swam off with my Rapala!! I figured just as well. Don't ever mess with a 2 foot Pickerel and a mouth full of very sharp teeth.
