Morning all

I have an 05 outback with the old rudder system. I have just seen the new twist and stow sytem and see the possibilities. My questions are can I retrofit my outback, what parts do I need and are there some tips out there to make the process easy on an old man.

no the rudder is not upgradable. Sounds like it might be time for a new boat!

G'Day Frank,
New boat indeed!!!! (typical dealer comment there Brad! )
The conversion can be done if you're at all handy. :)
Check out this more recent post:

and the original how-to here:

It is still working well on our 06 Tandem (Oasis)
After re-reading my original post I realise I never did get around to working out how to do the conversion without welding. I was looking at rivetting the tube for the new rudder directly to the older system.
If you do go ahead with it look at upgrading to the newer up/down system at the same time.
Keep us posted!
