I just got my Oasis today, and I need to add some storage for the bow area. Wilderness Kayaks have a flat area in the front with the bungee strap to store stuff up front. We don't have that luxury on the Oasis.

I have the Hobie Trax cart and was thinking I can store it on the bow, if I can get a good strap down system there. Then a cooler or other stuff could be mounted on top of the cart. I don't want to store the cart on the stern tie down area, because that is where my cooler and tackle box will go.

I think you'll find that Stringy created an excellent solution for deck storage on the bow. Check out this link: http://www.hobiecat.com/community/viewt ... =trip+load

He also stows his wheels in the front cockpit -- apparently it doesn't interfere with the front passenger. Don't know if your Trax wheels will fit, but here's what it looks like: http://www.hobiecat.com/community/viewt ... ight=oasis

Of course, you can add more padeyes and bungees to suit. 8)

G'Day Jorhyne,
In the second link that Roadrunner supplied (thanks RR!) I had made a framework for a second mast and sail that attached to the front hatch. Before I made this I had a much simpler cart storage solution using an eyebolt and a padeye cut in half to carry the cart in front of the front hatch. It worked well and the front passenger could still pedal OK with the cart in place. You can read about here - the details are about halfway down in this post about soloing the Oasis.

Hope you enjoy your Oasis as much as we have! :)

Thanks for the posts guys. Great ideas.

One other question. I saw a post here with pics of how to secure the mirage drive when it is removed. I can't seem to find those threads. If someone can post the pics or links, I would appreciate it.
