Has anyone done this? My idea is to get some 1" conduit and fill the bottom part with a large dowel to fit. Put a point on the dowel and a rubber stopper on the top.

The hobie stake out pole has a line coming out of the top and a ring to hold the line down the pole. Not sure about this. I was thinking about just shoving the pole through the ring in my anchor trolley. Or should the pole be away from the boat? Also, what length should the pole be. The hobie one is 5 ft but I'm thinking the longer the better.. 8 ft?

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Bob
