How deep does a scratch or gouge in the hull have to be before I should become nervous about it? No leaks yet, but I'm wondering if I should consider a preemptive repair just to be on the safe side.

I ran over something sharp (oyster, most likely) that left a deeper than usual gouge. It runs for about 6 inches in front of and up to the drive well. It didn't perforate the hull, but I'm wondering if I can expect a crack or stress fracture in that area in the near future.

Any similar experiences out there? Thanks!

I have some pretty nasty gouges on the bottom of my hull from oyster beds. I would like to repair them. What are the options?

The plastic varies in thickness. Maybe 1/8" or so.

Best to leave them alone. The raised material will act as a barrier against further abrasion. If you really have a problem... you could do some filling with a plastic welder, but this is not common.
