The spine on my steel-sprocketed Mirage Drive cracked at the main axle set screw. I ordered a replacement spine, but the drum shaft from my old drive doesn't seem to fit in the new spine. Do I need a new drum shaft to fit the new spine, or should I just get a bigger hammer?  I thought I'd ask here before I tried hammering stainless steel through plastic.

Also, if I need a new drum shaft, will it work with my old drums?

Thanks in advance.

Should be the same as your original spine. Bigger hammer I think. The new drum shafts are backwards compatible with spines, drums and hulls.

Excellent. Thanks, Matt. The bigger hammer route is usually my go-to option, but I'm starting to learn from past mistakes.
