Matt,
What brand of grease do you use on new Miragedrives? I've noticed it is a greyish-green color and is very fine and tacky. I put a LOT of miles on my Adventures - usually 20-25 miles a night. Great exercise, but hard on drives. I've noticed your grease doesn't wash out and stays good much longer than anything I've tried.

We no longer need grease here on the Gulf Coast. Our water is naturally oiled which keeps the drives well lubed.

My guess is you can use OMC Johnson/Evinrude Triple Guard Grease....its waterproof and made for parts with friction contact.
A 8 ounce tube sell for about $7.00.
I use this grease to lube my outboard motor steering rack assembly, pivot points.....tilt and trim grease fittings.

I'm with you Coastbum (and thanks for the tip Dr.SteelheadCatcher),
I'd like to know the name of the product that Hobie uses as I'm due for a Mirage drive treatment. I recently returned from a journey along the north shore of Lake Superior where I logged 200+ miles. I'll be using my spare drive until I've given my #1 drive a good tune up.

Thanks,

GR8 Laker

roadrunner did a great write up on adjustments and lubrication. It's in our FAQ section:
