Well I officially release my OK Trident to a new owner this Saturday and even though it was a very nice yak I think I won't miss the paddling that much.

Today I went to ACK and put a deposit on a new red Outback. Had been going back and forth over the Revo and the Outback then I said hold on you did this to yourself the last time going back and forth over the tridents and others in similar class. So this time I just said I like both but I really like the shorter, extra width of the outback plus basically everything is built into it. All I am going to do is put on a Anchor Trolley and Hummingbird 385ci kayak combo and I am done.

Can't wait to get it in the water and test it but dang its cold right now in Galveston and I don't have no cold water clothing (hehe).

Well at least it will look good in the garage. Think I need to go buy a wetsuit or some waders.

Well done on the Outback, :D went through the same dilema myself recently and settled on an Outback. I don't regret it for a minute its a great fishing platform. Hands free fishing is such a buzz after juggling a paddle and a fishing rod.

Good choice. Bought my wife one a week ago. We feel your pain. It was 29 here this morning with water temp 56. Central Florida and way to cold to adventure out.

After you install your 385ci let me know how well the upsidedown "V" fish signs show up if you do the in the hull install for the transducer. I bought a PA with the 385ci already installed and get great graffics for bottom structure, hardness, bait balls, etc, but the fish Vs just are not showing up.

Does anyone else on here with the 385ci know what might be wrong??? Thanks for any input.

Well the new outback is sitting nicely at home and I just wish I had cold water gear to try it out (I still can't decide between wetsuit and waders) Still have a few things I want to add but overall its ready.

I posted this earlier this week. We don't do the ocean yet, so this recommendation might not work for the ocean. Out here the hard core fishers in the winter use dry suits.

Yep was just looking at those in conjunction with a possible dry top. I did see they make an angler drysuit which is around $500 and talked to some people who have it an love it.

Though I think I might prefer to have a top that is detachable for when the temps rise can easily take it off and stow while still having dry pants to keep that part dry and warm.

Thanks for the info.
