 Post subject: mounting camera on kayak

i have a pro angler and i just bought a hd waterproof gopro sports camera. does anyone have any tips on mounting this for some good video on my next fishing trip thanks joe :mrgreen:

Broom handle off the sailing mast receptacle with a clamp or jobe grip tripod mount or something like that.

I mounted one on top of my rudder casting looking forward a few times... with the rudder up (so I'm not swerving all over) I could use the rudder pedals to pan the camera back and forth.

I cut a piece of half inch SCH 40 PVC pipe and glued a threaded fitting onto one end. Then I took a threaded plug and drilled a quarter inch hole in the center and but a 1/4"- 20 bolt for the camera to mount on and then threaded the plug in to the fitting. The half inch PVC fits nicely into the sailing mast receiver.
