For some reason I have always installed my anchor trolleys on the left side. Not even sure why I do. I am right handed and put my paddle on the paddle rest on the right hand side. It feels pretty comfortable set up this way.

I'm a righty also, and like to fight the fish and bring her in on my left side. All my rigging (anchor trolley, ff, etc) is on the right side to allow one side of hull to be free of obstructions. This also keeps one side free for re-entry.

RobinA,

My trolley and FF is on the right. I have the revolution and the cleat is on that side so I use it to cleat off my anchor line or drift chute.

A Thrill Ride is being dragged around in your kayak for 40 minutes by an extremely large fish.

I have mine on the left. I don't think I spent alot of time thinking about it but I think I put it there because it's the port side of the boat. I always tie up on that side as well. I think it might have something to do with the ships I see every morning on my way to work and they are traditionally tied on the port side. But put it where it makes the most sense to you. I really don't think there is any hard fast rule so the bottom line is you're the one who has to live with the decision. Happy Yakking!! :D Roger
