Just made my first trip out on my outback. Came back in to find a good amount of water below deck. I found the leak coming from the white plug in front of the mirage drive well. Is this a common spot for leaks and what is the best way to fix the leak?

Take it to your dealer. Sounds like a Mirage well crack. Not normally repairable.

Ok will do. I bought the kayak in South Carolina. I hope a NJ dealer will help me out. What is the purpose of the white plug near the well? I was thinking of putting some marine goop around the area inside the hull first.

Behind the white plug is a brass fitting, just used to attract more plastic to that area during manufacturing. That area was a problem with cracks in the first year of production for some AI's (both of mine were replace), so needed more plastic. The white plug just covers it and makes the bottom smoother. there should be no through-the-hull openings in the boat below the water line, except the drain plug on the newer models.

Is this a new or used boat?
