A younger relative with a good size fishing boat sent me this link. He has used the SeaSucker products like the rod holders for a few years and loves them. He has hooked some good size Stripers and LMB while trolling with spinning rods, casting rods and some sturdy fly rods with no problems. He can move the rod holders around to accommodate the # of fishers, wind/current changes. When he is done fishing, they go into the toolbox in his truck bed.

Besides stand alone products, the company makes SeaSuckers which work with RAM products.

These could be the answer for mounting cameras, gps units, electronic gear and ?? without facing "Drillaphobia"

Their heavy duty Kayak roof mounts would enable you take the racks off very easily when you don't need them. Roof racks besides making a miserable noise while you drive, have a very negative impact on mpg.

I have something similiar but not as powerful re holding power to carry my fly rods with one on the roof and one on the hood. Years ago in SW Oregon a rep put the rod holders on his suv and attached 4 expensive two handed rods and drove over hill and dale with no problem. I have had a set for about 5 years and they work great. The beauty is when the vacuum seal is broken, you can take them off the vehicle and store them.
