Hello to all on this forum:

I am new to the Hobie kayak and recently purchased 2, an Outback and a Revolution, both are the 2007 model.

The question I have is what to do with the mirage cassette plug?

Is it recommended that the kayak be stored with the plug in or is the plug just for when you are using the kayak as a paddle vessel?

I am not currently storing the kayaks with the plug installed.

Thanks for any replies.

Dan, in Cape Coral, FL

Not related to storage, so not required when not using the boat.

Install the cassette plug whenever you are using the boat without the MirageDrive installed. This keeps you from stepping into the open well, keeps loose items from falling through the well and keeps a lot of the water from splashing up through the well when under way.

We strongly advise the use of the plug when the drive is not in place.
