I'm looking to transport a Revo and a PA on set of ladder racks on a truck. The total width of both boats is 66" while the cross bar on the rack is only 50" wide. My question is... Can a Revo be mounted sideways using a cradle/saddle sytem? If so, which cradle/saddle would you recommend to mount the Revo on a set of ladder racks? The PA would lay flat.

The metal cross bar is a square stock, looks to be about 2", so I would want the cradle/saddle to mount directly the crossbars.

Thanks in advance

I have transported both of my revos on the roof rack I mounted on my pickup with the Malone Downloader J-carrier. Carries the yak just fine and slims the profile nicely. One thing to consider with the J-style carrier is how it mounts to the crossbar. The Malones are "universal", but they tend to rotate around the round bars used on yakima brand racks when loading. nothing major just a bit of a pain. Everything is kosher once loaded.

Have not tried a revo and my PA yet. Measurewise it seems feasible, butit would definitely be a loading challenge.

If it was me I would simply buy a piece of steal
stock the same size as the cross bars you have
now except longer and bolt them on top of the
original cross bars.
