Has anyone ever seen a full size foot pedal for the mirage drive ? Something more like the shape of your foot.....I have a problem with plantar faciitis on my foot and am looking for a pedal modification so that I can apply pressure to the pedal using more of my foot surface....

Anyone with any ideas ?

Thanks...

Short answer is no......but one thing that might help/work are "heel straps" you can easily make.
I did this for my Mirage drive as I have big feet......resting my heels into the straps make for much easier pedaling as I don't "pull back" on the opposite pedal, so the standard Hobie strap is not needed.
Just search for "heel straps" and you will find several posting with photos.
Good luck!

Boss, what if you took something like starboard or alzek(PVC lumber) and made a larger surface in shape of your foot and screwed it to the existing peddle. Not expensive and easy to make.

If it doesn't work it's easy to remove.

Use double stick tape to get the placement right without drilling any holes until you're ready to.

Wear shoes. I have the same problem and have orthotics inside my shoes. Mine are hard plastic I got from my Podiatrist and wear them when I have issues.

Or you could just cut up an old pair of shoes and glue or screw them to the pedals
Just a thought

You can get full foot pedals for bicycles from special needs suppliers. Recumbent specialists may be able to help.

Hase bikes make very posh ones but others exist.
