Hi all new to the forum, I appreciate the collective knowledge here and have learned a lot over the past year just reading.

Most problems I've been able to figure out however I'm having some trouble getting my rudder to sit perpendicular.

It's a 2005 Outback, the spectra cord that controls the up and down movement broke right at the rudder and I thought I could tie the broken end to a spare piece of spectra that I had and it would be fixed.

While that did work to rise and lower the rudder my new problem Is the rudder has a slight angle to it when in the up or down position. I've loosed the steering lines but that does not help and a Google search isn't much help either.

I don't think anything else is missing from the assembly but I could be wrong.

Here are some pics showing the rudder and the angle it is fixed at in both up and down positions. Any help or ideas on how to get this straight again would be appreciated. Thanks!

You can just bend it back - or if it's too far gone, get a replacement mount (part # 81350001)

Thanks bending it back seems to have worked.

I tried doing that at first but thought it would not take the pressure and might break. I couldn't figure out how it got bent in the first place and then I remembered tilting it up on that side to drain some water that was in the hull and the rudder must have gotten bent when I was holding it up in the driveway. From now on I'll leave the drain plug in and use a big sponge to get rid of the water.
