Have you upgraded a V2 drive to Glide Technology?

Has anybody upgraded a V2 Mirage Drive to a Glide Technology drive? If you have, how well does the upgrade work? And where can the necessary parts be purchased, preferably in a kit containing all of the parts necessary for the upgrade? I haven't been able to find anyplace which is selling the parts required to upgrade a V2 drive to Glide Technology.

Here are the parts required.
2 each P/N 81127001....Hobie Sprocket-GT w/bearings
2 each P/N 81175001....Hobie Drum-GT w/bearings
1 each P/N 81123001....Hobie Idler Pulley-GT w/bearings
You can order from http://www.kayakshed.com/ they had these in stock as of Monday.....list price is about $131.00

I made the conversion Monday, but have not tested it in my PA-14 yet.

I have a drive from 2008 that is well worn. It has the set screw masts. It would be great to refurbish this drive with 2015 parts.
What are my chances?

Your chances should be excellent. You'll need new threaded masts in addition to the kit and new cables if you have the old style drums. Take a look at your 3 shafts for wear. Typically they wear on one side so if you see that they are worn but don't want the additional expense of replacing them, you can flip them to transfer the load on the unworn side.

Easily done except for the idler shaft where you would have to file a new notch on the opposite end/side for the lock screw. Don't overtighten and use Locktite Blue on these Allen screws or you'll risk cracking the spine or screws backing out.

Super !....the shafts are worn, I have turned them around once already at about 2,000 gps miles....that was 900 miles ago. Most of the slop is from the ovals on the pedal drum. I have used this as my loaner to guys without a Hobie yet....Now its getting embarrassing when folks see what I'm loaning them

just completed my upgrade...

feels smoother... only 2 comments.

1) idler pulley slack along the shaft:
noticed appx 2 to 3mm ish slack exposing the shaft, only issue is that i was worried about the bearing rods being exposed...
purchased some UHMW washer and it fits and covers the shaft... also the pulley seems to spin without the grinding noise of hard plastic against hard plastic

2) drum touches idler pulley plastic shaft piece.
iirc, there was another thread about his... the idler pulley plastic covering for the bearings seems to be wider than the V2 so when the drums and pedals are extended, it touches and pushes on the idler pulley.
tried similar UHMW washer, smoother action, does not touch, but now the outer edge of the drum comes in contact with the click fastener for the mirage drive.

thinking about finding thinner washer for this... sadly did not find one made of UHMW.

I finished my upgrade yesterday on my 2013 Outback and had a chance to take it out for an hour our so trial today. Although whether it's worth $140 or so (if you do your own labor) may be questionable, it absolutely does make a noticeable difference. The effort/friction is greatly reduced, and everything seems to just "flow" much better when pedaling. I live on a lake and use my kayak almost daily, so for me, it's definitely worth it! (And, knock on wood, so far I haven't had any of the clearance issues some of the other people mentioned, and I didn't need to add any washers, etc.)

My sister and I have upgraded our drives for our 2 Revo 11's and are about to upgrade them for our Outfitter. We had a local dealer do the upgrades. We both find we have much improved endurance using the drives.
