Just got the crack in the front part of the drive well of my '08 Outback. Is it still possible to file a claim? I trying to find out if the person I purchased it from is the original owner, if it matters.

I didn't get a crack but a puncture hole from the drive hitting something under water from previous owner. It's too old to claim any warranty I already asked hobie . If yours is similar to mine I hooped the inside, and epoxy the outside

Thanks for the tip. I figure I have nothing to lose by trying since it's a well known and documented defect. The worst that can happen is they say no. I'd be more than willing to pay for a new hull, pro-rated as others have been offered.

My local dealer is willing to file the claim for me, so I'll give it a shot.

I had same problem, tried several different epoxy repairs, none worked. I finally got a few of those welding plastic welding sticks, scraped crack into a shallow "V", cleaned with acetone and used a heat gun with a very small tip. Got the original plastic so hot it was melting and mushy, fed about 2-3 of those sticks into the hole, reshaped it while it was still soft and smoothed it out.... never leaked again... that was 2-3 years ago. Friend of mine bought it from me and still going strong.
