Hey folks just bought my first Hobie and it looks like my previous fishing kayaks manufacture suggested different storage methods than Hobie does. I am curious what everybody does for extended storage periods/ over winter.
I am really leaning towards something like the Talic seahorse stands or the Suspenz portable stands, does any one use he's stands for longer periods of time?? I was thinking 4 stands instead of just the 2... Thoughts?? I can't hang it from ceiling, I will not store outside and would love to keep it up off the ground(mice) in a garage.

Just throw a couple of 2" PVC pipes on the ground parallel to each other and set the kayak down on top of them so they nestle into the scupper channels. The PVC should hold it up off the ground and support the full length. Plus with them loose they will self center under the kayak. Lots of us use PVC for bunks on our trailers. If you really wanted to get fancy you could build some 2x4 frames to mount the PVC on and put caster wheels on each corner.

The Talic Seahorse racks are suited for long-term storage for some of our lighter kayaks (rated at 100 lbs)...not so much suited for the Pro Angler. One option for the heavier kayaks is storing on cradles, wider slings, or upside down on padded crossbars or sawhorses.

Thanks for the replies, i only have a Revo so I may go with the portable stands. It would be Kind of nice to have the bonus of having a raised platform for rigging & cleaning however I really like the cost and simplicity of the PVC idea.
