I bought a hook 4 gps/fishfinder and had the hobie dealership do the install. The location of the battery prevents me from using the front hatch liner. Is there no other place to locate the battery leaving it accessible without having to eliminate other accessories?

put it whereever u want. If you got the hobie battery holder - it also works for the rear hatch. my 2016 outback battery is just forwards of my center hatch sitting in the hull personally at the moment

Rear 8" twist and seal hatch is the other most common spot. The Hobie battery holder will drop right in there.
