I LOVE my Outback, and frequently fish for 5-6 hours at a time. The older seat is just not adequate for this 60 year old body.

I've seen modifications using the Jackson elite seat, but the $90 version of this appears to be no longer available...The Jackson site shows the elite now at a jacked up price of $200....I'd rather spend my money on a trolling motor mount!

I'm wondering if anyone has found any acceptable alternative seats that could be adjusted to fit the Outback?

Any experience using the Bass Pro Ascend FC Elite Black White Kayak Boat Clamp On Seat?

Would love some alternatives!

Have you considered this $20 cushion?
https://www.amazon.com/Therm-A-Rest-643 ... at+cushion

It really is comfortable, speaking as someone with no padding on my arse

I used this seat in my 2010 Outback and its really comfortable......I eventually switched over to a 2013 PA-14 because the new seat and extra room was what I desired.

I believe that the $20 plastic molded seat from Academy Sports and Outdoors is the best solution to butt fatigue for the money. The back is tall and sturdy to help you sit upright. The molded seat keep the seat posts that keep the seat from sliding forward or backwards from numbing your butt. All you do if place it over the canvas seat as a sit in and the canvas provides the seat from moving or sliding over the plastic hull of the kayak.

Give it a try.
