Has anyone retro-fitted a spinnaker on an older model AI (which according to Hobie and my boat shop requires lowering the main sail by 3 inches) and if so how uncomfortable is it to have the main sail sit 3 inches much lower? I'm 5 foot 10 inches in height and currently have to duck some when the kayak turns. Thanks in advance for any insights.

You could have a sail maker trim the head to make room for the mount. That way the foot is not lower.
