Last year I bought a replacement 12v 8aH, SLA (sealed lead acid) battery from my local Ace Hardware store. It is for my 2013 PA-14.
It also fits into the Hobie battery holder and weighs 4# 14 oz or 4.875 pounds.

Seems to me a decimal point is missing in the battery weight you found on line.....4.5 pounds is a little light for a 9aH battery, but is in the lower weight range one would expect and 45 pounds is out to lunch!
