I'm going to post this here for people to learn from. But I know (from a previous posting) that I'll get flamed by some for what it looks like in the video, so let me explain.

A lot of people watched the video and came to the incorrect conclusion that I was more concerned about getting my lure back then helping this guy, which isn't the case at all. The line was wrapped around 2 kayaks. The guy in the water, while scared, was safely floating alongside his kayak. I thought it best to calmly get all the line and hooks untangled and out of the way first. The last thing this situation needed was for more tangles and treble hooks to impale someone.

So if you get beyond this, you'll see what happens when:

You don't know how to:
Balance yourself in your kayak
Right your kayak
Self rescue

As well as the importance of dressing to swim and rigging to flip.

Had there not been other people around and if it were a bit colder, this could have ended badly.
