Mirage Oasis - Cradle part #

I am not finding what cradle is used for the Mirage Oasis can someone post.

We don't make a cradle set specifically for the Oasis, however the bottom of the AI and the Oasis are very similar...you could probably use the AI cradle set and trim off the AKA portion.

You can also pad the crossbars and trailer the Oasis upside-down, if you don't want to go the modified cradle route.

Which part number would be best 1 or 2 to modify for the Mirage Oasis Tandum?
1. 72020406 CRADLE SET (1 boat) - ADVENTURE ISLAND 2015
2. 72020400 CRADLE SET (1 boat) - ADVENTURE ISLAND V2 (2011-2014 MODEL YR)

I would use the cradle set for the newer AI...newer AI's are a bit fuller and a bit closer in shape to the Oasis.

If anybody has already done this or is planning to use modified AI cradles with a current model Oasis please do share! And with pictures... How good of a fit is it?

Hi. Nubie here. This is my first post. I own a 2017 Mirage Oasis. Got the 2015 AI cradles for the trailer. The rear (1/3 in) fits perfect. The front cradle does not fit at all. The kayak rests in the center and the side bottom section do not even touch the cradles. I am returning the set. I wish there was an option with a closer fit. R

Most of us just use PVC tubing to cradle most of the Hobie kayaks. There are two grooves on 11" centers going the entire length of the underside On most of their models. Most of us just go to home depot and pick up $10 dollars worth of pvc tubing (10 ft lengths), then just cut to fit.
I cartop our Tandem Island and don't use any aftermarket cradles at all. I just lift the boat onto the crossbars on the factory roof rack, after the boat is up there I just slip two 1.5" dia x 8' long standard cloths poles (the kind that go in home closets, available at home depot). I slip them into the grooves on the underside of the boat then strap the boat down. Pvc tubing would also work.

The pads articulate to fit your hull; rear pads slide for easy mounting and the front pads grip the forward area. I have used a previous version of this for years on all my Hobies, including the Oasis without any problem.





The only caution is that these are for transport, not storage unless you want dents on your hull. To store on your trailer, you can flip the boat and store it on its rails (the pads would have to be slid off to the side, out of the way.

Thanks for the replies. I am trying the Hobie AI cradles on a Trailex trailer. They are installed on the crossbars which are 63 inches apart leaving about 53" overhangs at both ends. What I did is place foam padding lining on top of the cradles which fills any voids. The kayak seems to be resting on all points. The rear is a pefect fit and the front with the foam is close. Hopefully this is good enough for transport.
