I have had a steering problem for months with my 2015 Hobie Revolution. The kayak wanted to drift to the left and I had to keep my hand on the steering lever to keep it going straight. It didn’t take much pressure to keep it tracking straight but you always had to keep your hand on the lever. I also have a 2015 Outback and it works fine. I had adjusted the tension loose, tight, and everything in-between. I spent hours comparing the line routing between the Revo and the Outback and I couldn’t find any real difference. I put cameras inside while I worked with the steering and couldn’t find anything that would pull on the steering lines. Seriously, it was driving me crazy and I became obsessed with it. I called several dealers and none of them could offer advice.
The solution is so simple I’m embarrassed to show you but I’m hoping I can help others who might have the same problem. The rudder pin has a groove cut in the top to keep the up and down lines straight. The pin had turned where the line was following the rudder when it turned allowing the line tension to pull the ruder to the left. I don’t know how it happened. I probably did it myself while lubing the pin.
I hope this can save someone else the aggravation of trying to solve this problem
