Just purchase my first kayak, a Hobie Adventure. I really like a lot. I have taken it to the water 3 times, but to my surprise when I was cleaning it today I notice a bend ( or cave in ) in the botton of the hull, right underneed the tank well or storage area.
I transport the kayak in the bed my truck and to give it enough support I purchase a "bed extender". Well, It was there that the hull bend, even with ta padded cover on the "extender"
I don't know how will affect the perfomance of the hull, but I am already disappointed.
I was going to purchase a Revolution for my wife as wedding aniversary gift (next week), but that is on hold now. I am now thinking in a Hurricane Phoenix, made of Trylon, that won't bend as the plastic hulls.
The bend or cave in area is very difficult to reach. I don't think that can be fixed.
My advise to kayakers purchasing Adventure hulls and using truck beds as a way of transport is to put a long piece of plywood between the bed extender and the hull.
