Hi there,
I'm Mark from Sydney, Australia and just bought a second hand Revolution 13 . The wheels that I have on the standard hobie cart are the solid ones, not the fat inflatables. But from what I can see, there is not much diffference in wheel HEIGHT between the solid and the inflatables.
I have a problem whereby the only way I can feasibly solo launch my yak into the water where I live , is to wheel it (on the trolley) down an old stone set of steps that go directly into the harbour. Even with a high tide - there are still about 10 steps that I have to wheel the yak down before being in the water. So at the moment I have to get someone to help me lift the kayak down the steps - which means i have to call on a friend when I start and end the trip.
The trouble I am having is that the current wheels aren't big (tall) enough to cater for the fall and angle of the steps.
I've looked at a couple of the discussions re swapping wheels and trollies but they dont seem to really address my problem.
Has anyone ever managed to put really big (not necessarily fat) wheels on the standard trolley to give it more height above the ground ? (somewhere halfway between the current wheels and a 26inch bicycle wheel for example) ?
Any advice gratefully received .
Thanks, Mark
