Hi all - been having a lot of trouble with the scupper cart with one of my compasses (I have 2). I actually took a look under the scupper holes and realized that the scuppers on the kayak I have trouble with both have a lip over them and the black reinforcement doesn't line up with the hull. I've asked a dealer if I could just widen the hole myself but he explains that would void my warranty. Before I add a ton of accessories to this, has anyone run into this issue? What did your dealer or Hobie do? It literally takes me 2-3 minutes to wiggle the cart in on this compass vs my other compass...

This less than perfect alignment at the deck joint is common - the cart tubes don't always line up perfectly in the hull at the deck joint - and there is sometimes extra trimming done on the kayak hull by hand in assembly (all the scuppers and cassette well openings - as well as the entire outside of the hull on the parting lines) are all hand trimmed - the uprights on the cart frames also can be tweaked to make a better fit - those two things work together to make it possible to tune your hull - I'd start with just a simple tweak to the cart frame upright tubes - that is always the simplest solution to solve a tight fitting cart frame.

Thank you for the insight. I heard bending the bar was a solution, but the problem i have is not getting the cart into the tube (that part is fine), the lips are actually preventing the ends of the scupper cart from coming out and acting as a catch. What happens is that I am able to get my cart all the way up until the long end of the cart is supposed to exit the scupper on the top, but since the lip is obstructing the scupper hole, it will get stuck there. People have mentioned that they have had similar situations and eventually they end up cracking the hull at the scupper since they're constantly pushing against the protrusion every time they insert the cart. Honestly I wish I had checked this at the dealer when I went to pick it up but this wasnt ever mentioned as something to look for.

As noted by Jacques... that can be trimmed off a bit to fit. Should be solid there. Just note our comments here in case of a future issue for some reason.
