First Time Hobie User and Passport Question

Good day all. I finally bought a Hobie and after a lot of research and the local dealers not having a Compass, I purchased the Passport and took it out for the first time today. I'll start with the question first. How do you load it without stressing the rudder? It extends off the back and I feel when resting on the tail, I may damage it. I have a Subaru forrester. Now for the review. It was windy but I stood up and fished without any worries. It was so much more stable than the paddleboard I sold to buy this. It was a little squirrely when peddling in a straight line and I had to make sure to steer more than I thought I would need to. Yet when my legs got tired and a tried paddling again, I knew I made the right decision on the pedal drive. It was nice not to get soaked from water falling off the paddle. It was light enough not to have to exert to much stress on my recent hernia repair and was like a Porsche compared with my 17 year old Perception Swifty. I even chose to scrap my initial plan of upgrading to a 180 drive and dont regret it yet. It is easy to simply reverse the drive and pedal backwards. It also saved me a lot of money.

Per the Hobie owners manual, you can load it upside down and then the rudder is deployed in the normal use position.

Years ago I owned a Hobie outback with the twist and stow rudder system.....I loaded it "seat up" on to the Subaru roof rails, outfitted with Yakima 48" bars, grab rails and Mako saddles.
My car back then was a 2007 Subaru Outback.

I used and old car rubber floor mat that protected the stern while lifting the bow onto the roof.

You could consider loading it stern first too. Then the bow is on the ground while the stern is elevated for loading.
