Looking for a tool or application that will help me track distance covered while kayaking / kayak-sailing. Any suggestions would be nice. Thanks

I use my fish finder that has a built in GPS.

Garmin Forerunner 245 GPS (or one of the others in this family) Waterproof, fits on your wrist, use it for multiple activities. also does heart rate, pulse ox, and a bunch of other health and performance related guesstimates. 8)
